Okay, I had a c-section 2 years ago, over the past week i have been having little niggling pains on and slightly above my scar. Any ideas what this could be, my scar seems a little swollen.

I had two c-sections with the same symptoms a few years later- My Ob/gyn went and and found out that the scar tissue from the inside was attached to my scar and my bladder (this was during my tubal ligation) -he had to go in and remove it all-I luckily have had no trouble yet -but there is a risk per my doctor that the tissue can come back and cause the same pain

Read up on a condition called endometriosis, I don't know of a website but I spelled endometriosis correctly. Endometriosis is when, simply put, your period causes what are called endo implants to imbed on the inside of your body. Such as, your ovaries, your bowel, adipose tissue, and even the outside of the uterus. It is possible that the pain you are experiencing is caused by some old endo implants. Sometimes they can imbed along the suture line under the skin and cause quite a bit of pain. If it really bothers you tell your gynecologist he can easily remove the scar and give you much needed relief.

Scar tissue can tether itself down to surrounding tissues to heal the incision. You probably broke apart some scar tissue which is actually a good thing, it frees your tissue up. But you also could have strained a lower abdominal muscle. A strain should heal itself within a few weeks to a couple months, if it's scar tissue it should feel better in a matter of days.

Please see the dr. you could have a infection. Do not wait..better safe than sorry. Also are you carrying your baby..who now is heavier..you may have a slight tear somewhere..once you are cut open you are more prone to having problems. Also it may be irratated..are you wearing anything tighter than usual jeans..underwear etc.
This could cause sweeling..so for today and the next day or 2..wear loose clothes..if it is still there..please see the dr. Or if you see more swelling or redness.
I hope I have helped.
Ciao

There r so many things associated to it, but definitely its not endometriosis as endometriosis is never is cutaneous or subcutaneuos tissues,(as the name indicates) well it coud be scar hypertrophy of adhesions with scar. if it is bothering u, then u should better consult ur doctor. who will explain u about it.

i had four sections, it can make your abdominal muscles weak. i ended up with a hernia. it sounds like you may have one. i had pain in one side of my scar and also a swelling which got bigger. i have had surgery but there is no guarantee it wont return.
