I'll be 40 in a couple of years time and planning to have a party already!
I treat every birthday as an achievement - some people don't make it to the same age as you.
This year (for my 38th) I'm having a tattoo done - just a small one at the base of my back. Not thought of something for my 39th but boy am I going to party for my 40th!
Whatever you do have a wicked time - do something you can look back on and laugh your bits (with a t, not b) off.

Not liking it - you are missing out. 40 is the beginning of your life. You know more than all those youngin's in their 20's. You know what to stay the hell away from in the 30's!
I am 40 and I am single and I have more attention than I know what to do with... well, actually I know exactly what to do with it, but you get the point.
Stop worrying over outdated social standards. 40 is great!!

You could throw a ball in honour of yourself! Or a murder mystery weekend, something fun and glam then you will forever remember it as the most glam party you ever had! Just make it a night to remember, 40 is only the beginning! Many Happy Returns! xxxx

Im turning 40 next month. Do what your heart desires.. take a cruise, run in the grass.. celebrate.. Like fine wine, age gracefully... !!! I feel better now than I did in my 20s.. I work out, eat healthy and look better! Congratulations!

40 is when you are finally smart enough to have fun without getting into real trouble!!! This is not a WAKE, it is a coming out party!!! Get a new attitude and get out and bite off a big chunk of life. I did on my 40th and I have never looked back!!!!

Do something you like!! I am 33 and not looking forward to that day either. Go to dinner, go hiking or a movie. You need to make the decision.

just make sure to spend it with friends or doing something crazy special for yourself. Shoot, do both! Laugh, have fun and enjoy!!! and try to remember (age is seriously JUST a number to let others know when you were born-that's how I think of it) :-) make sure you write back and let us all know how it was!!! :-)
