He should tell them that, you shouldn't be drug into the middle of it, if you say something it might cause hard feelings compaired to if your husband says something.

That's up to HIM to do, not you. If it bugs him, then he needs to address it...but realize nothing is likely to change. I'm 42 and my family still calls me by a nickname I had as a child that I quit using for myself in the 9th grade. It's habit for them, not disrespect...to Mom, that's who I'll always be.
He can be Will to everyone else, to his family, what's the harm in Skipper? It's better to just let it go, than try to make an issue of it (and have it not work anyway).

Why do you wanna change things? His mother knows him better than you. She gave birth to him and has all the rights in the world to call him the way she want to.
Better accept the facts. The world will not have an end just because a man named Will is called for his own mother, in an affectionate way, Skipper.
I think you are jelous of this situation. Sorry.

Just have him tell them how he feels. He needs to put his foot down and ask them to quit calling him Skipper! Hinting is not working so be direct!

Well ok everyone calls me Mike because my name is Michael but that's not bad. I would just plain tell them this..."Will has told me that he doesn't want to be called Skipper anymore because he feels (fill in with reason)." It may work it may not work but they should understand.

Your 32 yr old hubby should grow a set and tell his parents he does not want to be called that any longer.

Who has the problem really? You or him? If it is you then leave it be. If it is him then he should tell them. They are his family. But they probably call him that because to them that is who he is and always will be. That little boy. You know it is out of love.

As you said, he's 32 years old. He should be able to tell his own mother and sister that he doesn't like to be called that anymore.

Your husband is just going to have to suck it up and tell them outright that he doesn't want to be called that. If that doesn't work then you two can come up with annoying nicknames for them. If they get pissed you can always tell them that they called him an annoying nickname and it's only fair that the two of them have an annoying name as well.

If it is really that important to him, HE should tell them himself. Yes, they may get hurt, but they are family and will get over it.
