It is going to get a lot worse if we keep on believing that more laws are the solution.
When we face the fact that we all had a hand in these massacres from the parents who try to be the kids buddy. Or working two incomes just so that they can have all the toys.
Rather than focusing on raising their kids.
When neighborhoods start watch all the kids just besides their own. So that kids know to behave no matter whose yard they are in.
Trash moral realitivism and being PC.
To quote McCain "GET A LIFE!"
When we as people decide to take control of our lives rather than waiting for the government to fix the problem that is when the tide of school masscures will turn not tell than.

Mass murderers are not all alike. Seung Cho was a delusional paranoid schizophrenic. Charles Whitman of the Texas clock tower massacre suffered from a brain tumor. Neither of these conditions is caused by negative life experiences.
But not all mass murderers are mentally ill.
In any case, having been abused doesn't "cause" anybody to abuse others. There would have to be a choice involved.
It is unfortunate that in many schools, it is forbidden even to defend yourself from a bully. I know a boy who was suspended from school for blocking a bully's punch against him. He didn't even hit back. The bully was expelled, so at least there was some justice. But can you see any reason it should be forbidden to block somebody from hitting you?

Believe me, as a thirteen year old girl, I can tell you- things have gotten nasty. Very, very, nasty.
Not trying to act like a saint here, but I really try to make things better. I look out for the kids who need a little help, and I stand up for them. And trust me, that doesn't make me an outcast at all. I got friends, and personally, if someone hates me because I set them straight, I don't give a crap. Why? Because when I'm 30 years old and totally comfortable with an open mind, they'll be just waking up from that ignorant stage of theirs and realize how amazing and tough the world can be.
Kids make fun of others for everything. Their weight, facial features, posture, smell, clothing, attitude, race, and for no real reason at all. In fact, I've been teased. I've been teased about my race before, which is no big deal, and more recently due to some events. I've been teased because the kids I know where a new combination of UGGS, Abercrombie and Fitch tops, Forever21 jeans, and Hollister jewlery while I stick to my Marshalls and TJ Maxx hoodies with a rare mix of $10 Aeropostale sales.
In fact, some kids just make fun of you in front of the entire class to get attention for themselves. Other kids think that total asshole, not afraid to speak your mind, cutting edge attitude is admirable and attractive. What kind of lesson is that to teach people?
Abuse is probably another part of it. Not necessarily physical abuse, or sexual abuse- but even emotional abuse can take kids and teenagers over the edge. Teens usually don't complain or talk to someone about their emotional abuse because they don't think it's abuse at all, or they think it may make them look petty, compared to the kids who are getting physically beaten or raped every day. They think, "Oh, I'm just over my head. This isn't a problem. I'm being a baby."
I would know these things. I really care about how the human mind works, and the kids who are both the victims and bullies in my school. I mean, things are just terrible. Kids forgot their manors.
In fact, I know a guy who is trying to get my attention(because he likes me) by making fun of kids. That doesn't turn to well with me. It's just the way this generation is- they can't think of any other way to get the spotlight on themselves than to be funny or interesting by making fun of someone else.
Drama is also a big play into why things like rumors leak out and make fun of people. When a girl sees two guys messing around with eachother, like wrestling, instead of her screaming "Tommy and Johnny are wrestling!", she'll scream "Tommy and Johnny are gay! I totally saw them groping eachother!"
Girls like to be the victim, and they like to be the source of information. Not only girls, but guys, too.
Anyway, those are my feelings. How to prevent? Be good people. But that won't go far with society today. I don't really know what to say. I just... don't. I think that a lot of things need to change, but I can't quite figure out how.

I don't think bullies are out of control. I mean, SOME of them take it too far, but that's just part of life. If these bullies are such a big problem, they should be dealt with directly. No other innocent person should have to suffer for it.
My guess is we will declare another stupid unwinnable war: The War on Bullies. We already have had the war on poverty, war on drugs, war on terror. War on bullies is next. Either that or the war on tobacco.

I don't think anybody really knows why. Different "experts" have differing opinions. I can think of 2 things to control this. 1 is to keep guns out of ther hands of those with severe mental illness & ythe other is to encourage the law abiding to carry guns & learn how to use them.
