pets cant where these clothes so why do they sell and why do people buy them other than to collect them?

Now (as Kethry said) there is a Customize Beta and it is released! Your pets can wear those clothes!
And it's for real now! Neopets now have a new layout and some new stuff. It could be confusing a first but you'll get used to it. :)

I quitted Neopets. But I can answer your question! Some people put them in their "Gallery" to collect. Others sell them to make more money. It's a great gift for a neofriend too!

Until very recently, all you could do with clothes is collect them or get them if they were asked for as quest items. HOWEVER, customizable pets are currently in beta testing. Once this feature has been tested and released, you will be able to dress your pets in the clothes you buy.

No, you can't because you would of bought it with the money you buy with real life money which I forgot what it was called because I quit neopets.
