I throw the cheese out. Even though it's hard to do, because I love cheese! I am like a big germ freak and stuff, and I know that the spores from the mold go down farther into the cheese than I can see, so I don't take my chances...

It depends if I really need the cheese how moldy it is and if its the only block I have. But YES I have cut the mold off cheese afterall thats how its made. I have never don that with any other type of food though.

They say that it is ok to cut mold off the cheese because it doesn't get inside, only on the surface, but I throw it away, but bread is different, if there is any mold on the bread, you should throw the whole loaf away ( not scrape it off and make french toast again ).

I'd like to say, throw it out but I have been known to cut the mold off in the past... not anymore though. I have been reformed.
