You blow up a football with an airpump until the football becomes hard. if the football is not used for a period of time, it became soft. Describe what has happened in terms of internal and external pressure and the kinetic molecular theory.


I have a small idea but am not sure of it.

The internal pressure is greater than the external, so more molecules are hitting the inside than the outside. Those inside will tend to try to find a way out until the pressures are equal - equal numbers of collisions on the inside and outside.
