If we cut and run Iraq will collapse into a terrorist breeding failed state (plus the world will know we've failed).
It should also be obvious to anyone with half a brain that we are not winning now, and can't ever win with the current level of troops.
Why can't everyone (including the generals) just admit the obvious - only the draft and at least 500,000 troops on the ground can win this war.

Yeah first there was the surge now there is the Even Bigger Surge!!!
How many people must die so the rich of America can hang onto their cash? Do you really think any of this will benefit normal people who will have to sacrifice the lives of their children? Brothers? Fathers? Mothers? Daughters?
The US should be content with being a rich, successful country and stop worrying about remaining the World Superpower and the poor should not be treated like cattle.

Iraq has gotten worse since the war started. More and more deaths are happening. This war is never ending. When will you get it? Bring the troops home. Let Iraq sort it out for themselves. No draft is needed. Impeach Bush, bring the troops home and send you to Iraq.

No.... we should be cutting back on soldiers not increasing them.... this war was a mistake... we CANNOT win... the only way we can have some closure is if we teach the Iraqis to take care of their own country... drafts are unfair and wrong.... That's one way to do it. I think there is a better way, how about not going to war in the first place. Destroy Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and find Bin Laden. That's what i would have done.

Because adding people who do not want to be in the military will create more problems than it solves.

militarily we came in and kicked a**... now this is a police action.. it's not so much that we need the draft as it is we need a new strategy... our army isn't trained to police the nation.. they are trained to kill/blow stuff up.... and they are very good at their job.
