In America there is such thing called 'freedom of speech'. It is supposed to give people the freedom to say whatever they want. I think this is an absolutely wretched idea. I believe men should have the right to say quite a bit bot not everything. For example, men shouldn't have a right to lie, a right to spread gossip, a right to threaten another person, or the right to blaspheme God. All those should be punishable by law. In addition, women shouldn't be allowed to make public speeches, gossip, use foul language, say bad things about their husband, or speak in tones which are haughty or arrogant. Some of you might be wondering why I stated that women should not give public speeches. Well, the truth is, that women are special and they have many roles and purposes to fill in life, but public speaking is not one of them. It is the man's job to teach and lead the nations. Does this make sense? If so, what are some things that you believe should be illegal to say?

No one thing makes the United States of America so great as the Constitutional right to free speech. Is it perfect? Of course not. It is bedeviled by the evil intent, ignorance, and stupidity of literally millions of people. But it is the greatest protection against tyranny that there is. Witness the fall of the dictatorships of Serbia, Argentina, Greece, and Chile. Even in free countries freedom of speech is not something that is automatic. "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty." That's not just a cliche. We must guard against the rich, the powerful, the crazies, the haters and the fanatics. We need to maintain everyone's right to free speech, but we can not let lies and libel go unanswered. On the whole we have done a pretty good job here in the U.S.A. And not only in the obvious ways. I do not think it accidental that our contributions to the technology of freedom are so significant: telephones, television, railroads, automobiles, computers and the internet have all increased our ability to communicate freely. And what have you joeys and sheilas in Australia been doing aside from drinking beer and cooking wombat soup? [C'mon Jellz you know it's all in fun.]

looks like I beat ya again. What is this world coming to? I know where my place is and I know my job. I most certainly do not gossip, can't stand it. It is once in a very rare blue moon that I am at fault for using an occassional beep word. I have never been haughty in my life. Public speaking is most definitely not my forte. Backbiting should be made punishable by law.

Freedom of speech means Americans are free to express their opinion, whether about the government, religion, their spouse, or their views on any other topic. Without that freedom, your little spiel here would probably be punishable by law. You yourself would be automatically guilty of the crime you're trying to enact.
Then again, after I looked over the questions you've asked since you recently joined, I think you're probably a troll who's here just to stir up questions and trouble, and to get people incensed over your questions. That's OK - that's still protected by freedom of speech, at least here in the USA. You still have the right to be an obnoxious troll.

"Well, the truth is, that women are special and they have many roles and purposes to fill in life, but public speaking is not one of them. It is the man's job to teach and lead the nations...."
Oh is that so? I suppose you would rather we stay in the kitchen and bake cookies all day, hmm? I think NOT!
I think freedom of speech is one of the reasons why we are one of the most powerful nations in the world. Yes, people who blaspheme God DO offend me, but if we took away their right to do so, we would only be inviting rebellion, and they would look at Christians in a very bad light.
Further more, I will invoke my right of freedom of speech in saying that you are EXTREMELY SEXIST and VERY mistaken on your opinions of women. Yes, women are special, but our place is not stuck at home cleaning up after you men all day! In case you haven't noticed, we women KICK BUTT in politics AND public speaking. Look at Condalisa Rice, look at all the women politicians, look at all the women lawyers. The thing about women and public speaking, is that we like to talk and we're darn good at it. And who are YOU to tell us otherwise? If men like you had your way, this country would really be in trouble.

Technically, freedom of speech does not give you the right to say anything you want, it is possibly the most misinterpreted right in the states. Check out some essays written on the subject, I think it should be included in education in the states, since so many people there don't really understand their rights.
Of course I disagree with your highly religious and sexist opinion, but you have a right to it, just don't expect it to be accepted by anyone but the most fanatical religious people...

EVERYBODY has the right to free speech. And there is no reason why they shouldn't. Even you, with your very biased way of thinking. We are all equal here on the planet, and nobody should have the say so in who can say what to who.

Well, that is one of the great things about this country. If you don't like it, you are free to get on a plane and go somewhere else. Somewhere that promotes backwards thinking might be just what you are looking for. Try Cuba.
