there are at present three (3) avowed communist states in the world, China, Cuba, and Laos. of those, one is Most Favored Trade partner (who practically pulled America out of bankruptcy a few months ago), one rents the US land for a concentration camp, and the third, Laos, is a small nation run primarily by Buddhist farmers. this is eighties thinking, by my calender this is 2007. we have far more important issues at this point in time.

Do you enjoy working like a dog for rich people? Do you realise that communism means you never get sacked, can go sick whenever you are sick, get free access to a wide range of public facilities (health care, sports centers etc etc.). Have a generally peaceful life in a non competitive environment... Is that so awful?

Don't get me wrong.. I'm an American and think we have a pretty darn good system here.. but China seems to be doing well (just talking realistically here)... I guess it comes down to the people that live in a nation and what is the best form of government for them... for us it is definitely a Democratic Republic.

Since I'm American I'm going to have to take your word for it. I've always known freedom and economic growth.

Yep. But, then again, China and Vietnam have the first and third fastest economic growth rates in the world (of course, that's after they adopted market reforms)...

I don't dislike them for being communists, but it's probably true what you're saying about the value of communism as a form of government.

Yeah, I wouldn't like living in one, but I don't hate countries just because they are communist.

many of the 'ancestors' of 3rd,& 4 th, generations of "Americans" originated from countries which came to be former"Communistic Block" countries---and have 'melted' quite successfully into this great "melting pot " which we call as todays' AMERICA----"You make pick your nose, and you may pick your friends,BUT, YOU MAY NOT "PICK YOUR FAMILY/RELATIVES/ANCESTORS!!!"---AND YOU,ALSO, DO NOT HAVE THE POWER TO PREDETERMINE OTHER CONDITIONS OF YOUR BIRTH---INCLUDING THE GEO-POLITICAL SITUATION OF YOUR BIRTH COUNTRY!!!
