It should be illegal to smoke in a car while transporting anyone under the age of 18.

Absolutely. A smoker has no right to inflict their bad habit on a kid who has no control of the situation. Any parent who has so little regard for the health of their children really should becharged with child neglect in my opinion. We all know smoking causes cancer, and smoking can cause asthma for some. To ignore this and force your child to breathe this toxic mess just because you are too lazy to smoke before or after a car trip is just criminal.

They will be attempting to do that within 2 years somewhere in N. Am. When the ultimate aim is to get rid of a product, the easiest and least troublesome way to do that is to compromise it out of existance. The first compromise by smokers sealed it's fate.

I'm not crazy about laws like that, but I respect the intent behind them. If we're going to do that though, we really should make it illegal for pregnant mothers to smoke, too.

I think it should be illegal even when the kid is over 12, but I don't know how it'll be enforced.
