If yes, how would you justify you position? I am an American living abroad, and there seems to be be a lot of pre-judging going on.

Hate is a strong word. Americans don't hate by nationality. Americans have an advantage in being a nation made up of many people from many countries. Other countries have the disadvantage of being more homogenous.

If you are experiencing hate from people who don't know anything other than you are American, then that is their loss. In many places the rhetoric of the Left is so anti-American that their little robot followers can think nothing else.

Don't do any of the "Ugly American" things to lend any credence to their incorrect beliefs. Always attempt to speak as much of their language as possible. When they are rude or hateful give them your best "Why me? I never hurt you." look and back off or just ignore it. Always be pleasant and polite, even when angry and you have to walk away. Confrontation will not help.

You may be able to pretend to be Canadian sometime and see if that makes a difference. If not then they just don't like any foreigners.

One comment from "Emperor -?" shows that there are also Americans who hate Americans, he actually feels guilty for being American. He betrays his politics too, he is a Leftist, probably a Democrat.

We Americans are among some of the most hated people on the face of the planet - if not the MOST hated group of people and it's simply because we're American, not because we are good, bad, or somewhere in-between. Sad part is that most of the people who hate us because we're American are supported in one way or another by us in the first place. If we stopped supporting other countries they could hate us for a reason. Let's put us first, then the others next, instead of the other way around, which is how it is now. All other countries are number 1 and we are at the bottom of our own list!

No never! I like people for who they are not where they are from!
I work in the tourism industry where I meet people everyday from all over the world. Most of them are wonderful people and they come from all over the place. I have kept in touch with some of these people because they are SO awesome!

I would love to have a friend from every country! You can learn so much from them, but when it all boils down, we all have the same wants and needs.

Anyone who could hate a person solely from where they come from must be a person who is a very sad individual indeed and I feel very sorry for them.

I think is a strong word, but I wouldn't say that I haven't prejudged people. As far as race or nationality I'm not normally put off, but other things may make me steer clear of a person. Examples: general bad grooming habits, body odor (and I'm not trying to be funny but it's hard to get to know someone when you can't bear to stand near them, and as a woman of course I am guilty of having some animosity towards a much better looking woman. I will admit it isn't right but I can't help the way I feel.

The rest of the world just hate Americans. They think we are all gluttons and honestly, it's hard to defend myself because they are right in many aspects. People in the US complain about everything and want everything handed to them. The rest of the world doesn't work like that. We take everything for granted but our kids are in for a rude awakening. I feel sorry for the future of this country based on the kids I see today. We may have to change the constitution to allow a foreigner to run for president. That's the only way we are going to get someone smart in office......

You can't hate somebody for their nationality, if you did that would make you racist.

You have to have a reason to feel that strongly about somebody and its the same for love too!

I love foreign people and their accents, were all unique and thats what makes the world so beautiful.

Sometimes there is extremism though, which is another story.

Personally, I respect anybody no matter their race, religion, sex, sexuality, nationality or creed. I think thats how it should be.

Preconceptions about race, creed or colour is the interface of suspicion, and hate. It creates a powder keg of festering deep rooted and often unfounded dislike and malicious intent awaiting a spark to ignite prejudice and conflict.

No I do not hate anyone or dislike any person unjustifiably, and shame on anyone who would .

if you're brainwashed to hate someone then sure it's easy. or you could simply hate their point of view, their looks, their religion, their anything. picking a fight is easier than you think. just look at the school playgrounds. what's the reason behind those? nothing, just simple "i hate you for no reason". done, justified and accepted by society as "normal". nothing to justify. it's human nature to be defensive and arrogant. sick but true.

no i would not hate a person just because of their nationality. everyone deserves a fair chance at friendship. just because a person is another nationality doesnt mean they should be judged. in fact, i believe that because they are a different nationality you can learn more about them and their culture. it is great to learn about different types of people and embrace others as friends.
less judging and more caring.

just my opinion.

Hate is just a strong word. I can't see myself hating someone for any reason. I may strongly disagree with you and just flat out don't like you, but never hate. Hate is a tool of the devil.
