he didn't put it on my finger & i think he just bought it because people were pressuring him to get me a ring. I've talked to him about setting a date & he refuses to even talk about it!!

Very successful marriages have been preformed with a piece of wire made into a ring.
If you want a wedding date set, then set one. Tell him the , whatever date, would be a fine time for your wedding. Ask if it's okay for him. His answer will tell you a lot.
Now you have something else to judge the success of a marriage on.

Promise rings are not the same as engagement rings. A promise ring is a ring promising to stay true to each other. There is still no promise of marrying with a promise ring. An engagement ring is a ring that symbolized that the 2 people agree to get married and plan a wedding in the near future

if he says its an engagement ring than it is. where he got it from or how much it costs shouldn't even matter if you truly love him. as long as he promised to love you forever through thick and thin, it could be a ring-pop for all it matters. its the meaning behind the ring that makes an engagement, not the price tag or origin of the ring.

I don't know. Did he propose as he gave it to you? Did he put it on your ring finger to act as an engagement ring?
I don't think the fact it came from WalMart has much to do with it--unless it was from the gumball machine out front.

I agree with Bobby L {except for the ring-pop part} I think the love behind it is all that should matter.

Wal*mart is evil. Return it and get it from somewhere else.

It's not the price that counts. My ex got my ring used on E-bay and it is lovely. It's an emerald and I love it and still wear it til this day.... on my right hand of course!!!

You couldn't wait for him to propose, so you proposed him.

He bought you a ring, but you don't like where he got it from.

You don't like the proposal either, hmmmm

You are never satisfied with anything, aren't you?

Good luck

Sure it is. If your engaged wether you bought it or he bought it or whoever proposed its still an engagement ring.

as long as it were given to you w/love & your heart then it means whatever you want it to mean....Does it really matter where the ring was bought? It was a diamond I assume?
