Having just joined Answers, I am amazed at the amount of insulting going on without true debate or ideas. I am a libertarian. I have some leanings to the left and some to the right. I enjoy debate and respect others views. However, I am not saying I am faultless in insulting. I found myself caught up in it and fired some insults myself.

But where does this get us? Angry? One-sided? We have got to start true debate and resolution. By pointing fingers at each other, we are not pointing to the problems that really need to be addressed. On both sides of government there is corruption. On both sides theres is greed and self promotion. We need to look at our government and not each other.

So, my questions are, why can't we have true, knowledgeable debating with out the name calling? Why can't we reseach our answers before spouting off at the mouth? When do we make government accountable for their actions? The way things are going on here we are not resolving anything.

I understand it is a Q&A site, but there are no answers. That is where I see the problem. And as it has been pointed out to me, yes, I have done the same thing. I admitted this in the question I asked. Please keep this in mind.

I am a conservative, and you are the most intelligent liberal I have ever heard. I agree that there is to much anger and not enough resolution in most matters. People on here like to point fingers and tell other people how to think without giving all the information or more importantly the facts of the issues. We need more facts, and less attitude.

Yes I agree and I am also guilty. I take the serious questions seriously, research my answer, state my opinion, but when a "crazy" Y!A user ask a stupid question or a hateful one I have to go along with a rebuttal of that sort. American Politics is very important to me but like Jon Stewart I can poke fun where it is due.

Don't look for any intelligent, mature questions or answers in this category; it's a grade school mud wrestling pit. I estimate that over 90% of the people - and many of them adults - come here only to post slurs and insults and piss people off.

You'll find other categories much more sincere and lacking in trolls and miscreants.

Hate to break it to you, but this is not a debate site, it is a Q&A site, there is a difference. Besides, there are some things (which you have proved yourself) that you just cannot let by so easily.
If you want "genuine" answers, try a different section, like History or something else. What you are describing is Politics at the core.

It seems to me that a lot of people get their jollies off insulting people, that somehow repeating someone else's misinformed opinion they are vindicating their position. Those people will never stop.

And honestly, Yahoo Answers is not the place to seek constructive political solutions. The people here are as qualified as our government is corrupt (which is to say, not entirely).

It's fun taking out your anger at the country by blaming somebody else.
Just so you know, vote republican. It's the better side. Nobody wants to have a jackass for an icon.

You think this is bad? You should have seen the old boards. Make your hair stand up. I actually miss those boards.
