I know they've already done Pocahontas, but there's another Indian heroine that I think would be even more interesting--Sacajawea. She was kidnapped as a child, and passed from tribe to tribe, then married to a French trapper. He was not particularly good to her but then something wonderful happened--he was hired as an interpreter for the Lewis and Clark expedition, and because she had learned the languages of the tribes she had lived with, she was also brought along, along with her young son. Can you imagine the things she would have seen with the others? She was one of the first women to cross almost literally "from sea to shining sea." She was well respected by the other members of the expedition, too the point that after she died, her son was adopted by Lewis. And at one point, the entire expedition was starving in the Rockies. They found a tribe of Indians, and asked the chief for food. At first he refused, but then Sacajawea walked into the tent where they were meeting. He yelled out, jumped to his feet and ran to her--the tribe was the one she had been kidnapped from as a child, and he was her brother!

I would make a follow up to either Tron or the Black Cauldron. Both were awesome movies and deserving of another. Neither were fairy tales with beginnings and endings, and in the case of the Black Cauldron, there are many other books to pull stories from.
