umm i am actually in favor of the death penalty in most cases.
when i say this i mean if somebody kills someone out of cold blood, and or for no appearent reason they should be killed also just because they took someone's future away from them and they never asked to be killed, so the killer should be killed as well.
but if you kill out of self defense and it is proven you murdered out of self defense i believe that you should get punished...but you shouldnt face the death penalty.

First off, you're very smart. Many will judge you for doing your research here but this is a HUGE forum and you will get a very diverse variety of opinions here. Well done. You're one smart cookie.
Now, I don't agree with it. I think it's to easy. Obviously, human life isn't such an important thing for who ever is on the receiving end of the death penalty. I think they were probably prepared to lose their life in the act that got them where they are now. An eye for an eye does not cut anything evenly. I doubt it's closure for anyone who was effected by what this person did and it only ends a story that should never have been told.
I strongly believe life sentences should be held out in special prisons. If it has been decided that you as a human being should be removed from society for the rest of your life, it's pretty clear that you do not belong in society. Thus, you should lose all rights as a person. The ways prison's were conducted in the old days worked rather well. You knew you were spending the rest of your life in a hell far worse than you ever imagined. Military prison kind of treatment even.

Im against it, but not because its wrong to kill them I just look at it as an easy way out for them. I mean if they get the death penalty they dont sit in jail for life being put through hell, suffering for the pain they put others through doing what they did. They dont have to think about what they did anymore, and feel the hate people have for them for what they did. I think they all should just sit in there, and rott. Death is an easy way out because you dont have to face what you did once your dead. Thats why when people say Oh I hope he gets the death penalty I get pissed because they are putting him out of his misery, let him suffer in jail. They do it in a humane way too why not kill them the same exact brutal way they killed other people so he gets to feel what it was like for them if they feel the need to give that person the death penalty, but I still say leave him in jail to rott.

Depends on the specific case. For the most part, I believe it is a good idea, because if criminals fear being put to death there will be less crime. But there are way too many parts to this question to list here.

I am for it as long as they are 100% certain the person did the crime.
It seems that there are a lot of falsely accused people in prison now that they are finding out really did not do it, via DNA testing and devoted people who will just not give up on their cases.

I oppose it because it is not an effective way of keeping us safe- it risks executing innocent people, is not a deterrent, costs more than life in prison, among other problems.
I think this topic is way too important for a simple yes or no answer or a fast sound bite.

I`m for it.
I`d even go so far as to make a casino game out of it.
They`re sitting in electric chairs behind glass. In front is a slot machine. You put in your money and pull the handle. If you only get a minor win, they only get a jolt.If you get the jackpot........

I don't agree with it mainly because I feel that it is inhumane. I know people are like "well they commited a crime" well that's true but really what is death to them? It is an easy way out, instead of them having to suffer the rest of their lives. Also the fact that innocent people have been put to death makes me not agree with it as well.

I'm all for it. If someone commits a crime worthy of it, they should get what they deserve instead of me having to pay my hard earned money to feed them 3 square meals a day and letting them watch cable TV.
