Would you still attend a dropped class, let's say like math, because you thought you might get an edge on it, for the next time you retake the class???

And I'm not talking to people who drop classes because their stupid and don't care about college, I'm talking on a more serious level.

I think it would be fine. It would be most considerate to meet with the professor and ask him/her if there was any reason they would have a problem with you attending--especially if it is a smaller class, where your odd standing compared to the rest of the students might be awkward.

But it sounds like you are considering this for the right reasons and my bet is the professor would think it was a mature decision on your part. If you do decide to do this, be conscientious though--don't drift in and out because then you will be a distraction and that's not fair to the rest of the class. Good luck!

Yes. In fact I did that with Chem. I had to drop for a personal matter, but the prof said I could always come sit in on the class and still turn in work. He'd grade me, it just wouldn't show up on the transcript. Then I retook it and aced it once the personal issue was over.

Why not just keep the book and review the work or hire a tutor. If you are going to sit in on the class everyday you might as well take the class.
