I started to think it was playing a role in my throwing up, so I stopped taking it. I took one again last night, thinking since my morning sickness is almost gone I should be fine. Then today I threw up 4 times. So, is it really bad if I don't take it?

Some people are very sensitive to prenatal vitamin. I would suggest children's vitamins if you can't hold down the others.

Ye syou should continue to take prenatals maybe not the ones you are taking talk to your DR about other brands which have different dosages in the vitamins.. I had teh same thing happening to me so I stopped taking the ones I started with and it took 2 brands to find the one which was ok for my system.I take the Natelle vitamins that comein a blue sample box the pink sample box made me feel the same as the over the counter prenatals. So inform your DR.

I am 14 weeks too and the same thing happened to me, my doc said I could take 2 flintstones everyday and I have not thrown up since. I think those big pills are just too much for me. i have to take a folic acid pill on the side, but it is much better than prenatals, I bet I didnt even have morning sickness it was just the vitamin.

you don't HAVE to take it, but you SHOULD. When you're pregnant, your baby will get all the vitamins he or she needs, but they're getting all that from you. That means, if you're not putting the extra vitamins in your body (from prenatals), the baby is sucking it directly out of you, and can cause some major problems for you, like calcium depletion, anemia, etc. Try talking to your doc about alternative prenatals. I know when I was pregnant, there were several options for several different sensitivities and allergies. Good luck, and congrats on the baby!

During both of my pregnancies I was unable to take any vitamins. My kids are 5 and 2 and are healthy with no problems. My mom is an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner and she was the one that told me I didn't have to take them if I was not doing well on them. My guess is, like myself, you are sensitive to the prenatal vitamin and would do better trying to take just a regular multi-vitamin.

you really should take them. talk to your doc about it next time you go. make sure you take it with a full meal and a glass of water. i always take mine after dinner. as for morning sickness being gone, that's an iffy. some people are sick the entire time. i'm 37 weeks and i still get sick on occassion. try taking 2 flintstones vitamins instead.

you really need a certain amount of vitamins when you are pregnant. pre-natals made me sick as well so my doctor told me to take 2 flinstones vitamins a day and together they have the same amount as you need. i took the gummy flinstones and my baby was very healthy!!! good luck

It is important to get folic acid in during early preg. If you cant handle prenatals, maybe take flinstone vitamins and get proper nutrition. Good Luck!!
