I am so sorry about your loss. You have another similar question posted, saying it was your cousin that was killed. I really hope that you are not just making up this tragedy.
I remember too. This tragedy started the whole series of events that led up to the horrible war we're fighting in. My husband fought in the war, so I'll never forget.

You know, I always wondered how my dad could remember exactly what he was doing and how old he was when he heard President Kennedy was assassinated. When the Twin Towers fell, I knew. I remember, 6 years later, how old I was, what I was doing, what day of the week it was. I sat and just watched the TV news report in disbelief that a plane crashed into the first tower. I was just as shocked when I WATCHED the second plane hit and both buildings fall! I'll never forget that day. I didn't know anyone who worked there, but it's such a big part of this generation's history, it's impossible not to remember watching history being made. My sympathies go out to all who lost family/friends on 9/11/2001.

The irony is, I was in an anti-terrorism exercise that week (Air Force). When our senior officers called the camp together to tell us that an airliner had flown into one of the towers, we all thought it was part of the exercise ... it didn't strike anyone that such a thing would ever actually happen. When the call "real world" was issued prior to repeating the statement, we knew the world would never be the same. We ended the exercise and convoyed back to base where we watched the footage of the second plane hitting. We spent the day praying and preparing ourselves psychologically for what we knew would follow ... deployment. Here we are now, 6 years later, and it still feels like yesterday. I'll never forget it.
I think about it every day as my brothers and sisters overseas continue to fight a war against the extremists and extremism that caused the disaster. Don't let political punditry cloud your vision that what we are doing in Iraq is working, we are making progress, and these are the people that will strike us again if we don't defeat them now. We owe it to those we have already lost to defeat this enemy.
God bless you and keep you in His supernatural grace. Many lives were lost that day, and we owe it to them to live our lives to our best, so that their deaths do not become our deaths as well. We are stronger than that, and those who would hurt us relish in the thought that our spirit died in the towers that day. Your grief is palpable and understandable. My family prays every night that those who have felt personal loss from these acts be comforted in the knowledge that their loved ones are not dead, but with Christ in heaven, and we will meet them again one day.

I'm so sorry about your loss. I won't forget - I'm a New Yorker (now in Vegas) and its so odd to look at the skyline and see it look so empty. I miss the coffee shop on the bottom floor, I used to go to it a lot.
I also had a coworker who lost her sister and Mother-in-law on one of the planes.
Did you get grief counseling? Its probably a good idea if you haven't. It can really help.

Ohhh I'm soooo sorry for your loss....... That is terrible! That would be absolutely horrible if I lost my parents in something like that. I'm sorry! And no, of course I have not forgotten that day and I NEVER will. I was in the seventh grade and the teachers would not let us watch the television and see what was going on. I really really really really feel for you! :-)))

I think it's hard for any of us to forget.
But we have to move on. If you lead a happy and fulfilling life then your mom and dad will be proud of you. :) I understand that it's really difficult but you need to pull through this... It can only make you stronger.
Have faith!

if you remember 911 you should remember that it is an inside job and it's a conspiracy to shock American and rally them into an illegal and despicable war. if you want to honor the memories of those dead in the tragedy, maybe you should learn the truth no matter how shocking and hurtful they really are.
