Glen McGrath of course, becoz if u look at his performance, he is leading wicket taker in w.c. so he has better chance to get it.

Well... how about lalloo? ;) he has clearly bowled out the country with his histrionics in the railways... best performer ever!
Ok on to some serious stuff... now where's those stats
Here!!! we go...
And the nominees are....
Mathew Hayden made 390, averaging @ 97.5 with a strike rate of 107.73 scored 2 centuries in a total of 5 innings so far.... Cleary Above the Ordinary...
But Wait... There's another Mate competing... He is....
Glenn Mcgrath... Played 6 matches scalped 16 wickets averaging @ 12.43 with an economy of 4.84!
Whew Boy! now thats some awesome figures we got no wonder why the aussies are the favorites in this world cup...
The question is should we give it to a batsman or a bowler...
Now take a closer look at this world cup....
Australia has the highest batting average @ 70.94 and also the lowest bowling average @ 18.21....
This world cup has witnessed more low scoring matches... Hence I would prefer giving the award away to a Batsman who has stood up in these conditions giving a head-start to his team....
I would like to see Glenny off with the man of series... but this is not about retirement but the present series... and so with a heavy heart.... I declare
The Award goes to.......
***Lets have a drum roll........................
MATHEW HAYDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S: for all of u die hard Glenny & Lara fans , I'v created a new award... thats the Life-Time achievement award which can be shared by both of them....
Its really difficult to satisfy everyone... yeah?

Whether selected or not Rahul Dravid is the best player in the series. Along with little cricket he can play so good politics too.
Among the cricketers man of the series would be Glen Mcgrath or Mathew Hayden.

Just not the run and wicket counts decides a man of the series, but the match winning performamce matters.
Hayden has a better chance than McGrath. But Murali will be also in the queue

Mathew hayden has been scoring heavily and he has got a greater chance. McGrath has become the highest wicket-taker in World Cups surpassing Wasim Akram's record and he has a fair chance of increasing his tally in the two matches remaining (if Australia qualifies for the final).

I think Matthew Hayden is going to get the Man of the Series Award because he made so many runs and a few centuries in this World Cup tornament.

It's either going to be McGrath for the number of wickets he has taken, or definitely Mathew Hayden for the number of runs he has scored thus far, with three centuries (tying ganguly and waugh for the number of centuries in a world cup).
My money's on Mathew Hayden.
