Like someone said already, the hymen might bleed if you still have one left (even virgins may not have theirs.) It did hurt some on my wedding night and my husband made it better by going slowly. ;) There wasn't much bleeding and let's just say that it may have been uncomfortable the first time, but not too much -- our honeymoon was fun! I do recommend waiting until you're married, as it's a very special thing to share with someone.

My friends and I have heard it can be painful, but in a nice way. I want to be married to the guy first before I lose my virginity.

The hymen breaks and thats it. Nothing major happens to your body (unless you didn't use a condom then a baby forms).. you just are no longer a virgin

A small "web" of tissue in you vagina tears and allows the opening to get bigger. You bleed and feel pain, but its all fine after a few minutes!
