St. Augustine defined what is a just war around 400 AD. So the Republicans have to go back further for their principles of foreign relations, probably to the pre Christian era.

In "The Dark Ages" Only Native Americans lived in the USA. I and the rest of the world have not heard that the republicans are giving the country back and moving you all out. Remind me not to smoke your brand of cigarette

Two groups of people enjoyed the Dark Ages...the Aristocracy and the Church. All the power and wealth were concentrated with these people. To the GOP those were the Good Old Days...but the Dark Ages sucked for everyone else. I'm hoping for the return of the Age of Aquarius myself.

Actually, it is the liberals ideals of the state being our protector and provider that are straight out of the Dark Ages. The Republican (well, conservative, anyways) ideals of individual freedom, free markets, minimum government and that all humans are inherently endowed with rights is still a radical belief in this world.

I think people in the Dark Ages were probably smarter then Repugnants. The alternate view party suggests: Intelligent Design for Evolution, Rapture for Global Warming, Abstinence for Teen Pregnancy, I guess for every problem bible is an answer. How about health care, helping the poor, promoting peace I guess their bible doesn't have those pages in them.
Next on their agenda to repute would be gravity, that the world is not flat, rape is not a crime.

We're only trying to adapt. According to the news, the new liberal "idea" of banning napkins at restaurants and use of more than one square of toilet paper has us thinking that civilization is going backwards.
Liberalism, ya gotta love it, huh?
Please pass me a roll of toilet paper and an extra napkin--you obviously won't be using yours.

I don't think all republicans are fundamentalists. Some of them are (like Pat Robertson).
Stony, don't give him ideas!

agree with dog lover's comments and I'll add, we are dealing with some terrorists that have dark age ideals...would be prudent for us to be able to think how they think.

Because that's how rednecks are, backwards.
Bugeyes, how can I be a bigot when I spend half my time on YA defending minorities from conservative haters? How many times a day are anti-Muslim/Middle Easterner/black/Asian/liberal/gay/female questions posted? I don't recall ever seeing you speak up for any of those people. The sad truth is it's the ignorant rednecks that are making those statements, and the ignorant rednecks that are leading us into fruitless wars! If you want to call me bigoted for hating those who spew hate and shed blood every day, then go ahead, but take a long look in the mirror first.
