I know there's gotta be some rational Liberals who must go crazy when one of their own puts forward absolutely insane ideas .

Case in point. .. . By now, most of you know about Sheryl Crow's idea of everybody only using one square of toilet paper per sitting . Crazy enough, but if you check out her blog , there's more, LOL, and it's just as crazy too . On that blog, I just read that they're also promoting a new product idea. . . . the 'Dinner Sleeve' . Yes, that's right, they want us all to bring a dinner sleeve with us when we go out to dinner . This 'sleeve' would be slid over our forearms so that we could wipe our mouths and faces on our 'sleeve' rather than use the already provided napkins . LMAO. . . Can you imagine dining-out with clients or your spouse or a date and wiping your face on your new " Liberal Dining Sleeve' ? And haven't they considered the extra-detergent that it will take to wash them . . . .. .We are supposed to wash them. . .aren't we ?

Hey Earnest, haven't seen you here in a while. I always wonder the same thing. When I see a fellow Republican throwing out useless nonsense in an attempt to smear the other side I always try to tell them to get a life and knock it off. I very rarely ever see that coming from the thoughtful Liberals on here. Instead you usually see more quite thoughtful Liberals piling on with such insightful rhetoric such as "Bush Sucks", "Stolen Election" or my favorite "Bush planned 9/11".

I'm sure there are a few, but to be fair I really don't see many Conservatives holding their fellow Conservatives to a standard either.

Those comparing Fedex, UPS, and the Postal Service are missing the boat. Fedex and UPS cherry-picked the profitable part of the trade, overnight delivery (which the Postal Service didn't offer until Fedex had already started it up) and large package delivery (which UPS perfected). Neither of those two will touch the regular mail, which is an incredibly money-losing effort for the Postal Service, hence the billions of dollars in annual subsidies that the federal government has to pay to keep the Postal Service afloat. A public option will devastate the private healthcare industry. If that is the point of the whole thing, then at least admit it. Once that line is crossed, it's only a matter of time until healthcare becomes a completely government run operation.

"Dinner sleeve" aside, as a Liberal, I think exactly the same thing when other Liberals put forward goofy ideas as I do when Conservatives put forward goofy ideas: what in the hell was he/she thinking when they came up with that one? You see, goofy ideas are not limited to Liberals. (Remember when Rush Limbaugh said there are more forests now in the US than there were when white settlers first arrived? I guess that's true if you count the two trees in a person's front yard as a "forest".)

The main thing is that she is thinking of ideas to help the environment. Obviously, some ideas are better than others. That's the case with all ideas. And rational people just discard the silly ones and concentrate on the good ones, regardless of which way their political leanings go.

I'm not sure that my upbringing would allow me to wipe my mouth on my sleeve. I can remember when as a kid and we all would have runny noses and Mom would yell at us for that very thing and tell us to get a hankie. What difference would using a Dinner sleeve be verses just using the clothe napkin that is provided at the restaurant? Wouldn't both need laundering?

The dinner sleeve sounds a little ridiculousand the tp issue is so crazy that I took it as a joke.

But it is still better to use washable napkins . You can also purchase organic and recycled paper products.
I really try to do as much as I can for the environment . It can be difficult, inconvenient and more expensive at times but I believe it is worth it.

Whether or not you believe in "man made" global warming or not, I think a little life style change is well worth it. It doesn't hurt, saves energy, water, animals lives, helps organic farmers and insures a beautiful earth for futures to come........

just like there are different types of conservatives (spiritual conservatives, fiscal conservatives, etc.) there are different types of liberals... she is an environmental liberal.. and has become fairly extreme with it...perhaps her views will inspire someone to come up with a more practical solution to the problem she has addressed.. or perhaps it will remain as a low priority for most Americans... either way.. and even though I don't follow in her extreme point of view on this.. I can still give her some respect for giving it some thought... the only people who embarrass me.. from any party.. are conspiracy fanatics and those with a completely closed mind.... other than that I am a firm believer that it "takes all kinds" to make the world go round.

It's getting a little out of hand I must agree.

As with just about anything in life being too liberal isn't good.

But seriously, I'm making myself a sleeve! I'll sell em on ebay and become a millionaire. Thx for the tip!

Most TP is made of recycled paper in the first place. In the second place most of it is bio degradable so what in the hell is Cheryl Crowe thinking about? Dinner sleeve. I ate out with my family this weekend and we had cloth napkins in the restaurant. They get washed just like the dinner sleeve would.

Tell me if I'm off Base, here? Don't I get the sense that these Clowns are seeing that their Boats aren't floatin'? And they're sinking & stinkin'? So they try to appeal to as many left-off's as they can? They know, they can't get the Popular Vote. The last Election, showed that. So they come up with some really lame brain ideas. But ,....oh What's the use.

It is not often but you can see a "rational" liberal around here once in while diss the answers of their own radicals and extremist. It happens on the right too. Its highly likely that some of the most "extreme" views posted are actually from the other side trying to make the left or right look bad.
