Popeye was awesome! He's the ONLY reason I ate spinach! My mother used to say "don't you want to be strong like Popeye? Eat your greens!". I actually like spinach now though...

I hate cooked spinach. Mom tried the whole Popeye sales pitch on me when I was a kid, but I wasn't impressed. I told her I'd rather eat something that gave me muscles like Bluto, because I thought Popeye was kind of wimpy (no pun intended) by comparison.

As quiet as it is kept....the Cartoon Popeye was produced & financed by the Spinach Lobbists of Boston or (SLOB) as a ploy to get consumers to buy more spinach.

i replaced right into a peculiar and wonderful baby. I continuously enjoyed spinach. yet observing Popeye style of left me disenchanted, because of the fact it did no longer provide me loopy powers. nonetheless have been given lots of affection for Popeye, nonetheless.

That's what Mom said too, I remember I tried to feed it to my dog as a kid, she turn her nose up at it too. I can eat it now, just had some in my salad, it great source of calcium and other nutrients. And so far my arms are still normal sized. hehe

yes, i believe i did. popey was my hero.
but then i found out that spinach does not make you grow huge muscles, therefore making popeye a poser and a liar.

Yes! I did. I remember asking my mom to cook some for us. She did and as she was preparing it I thought... yuk... that stuff looks nasty and it smells bad too. At dinner I knew I was in trouble and had to eat it since I'd asked for it. I never asked for it again.
As an adult, it surprised me that I actually like it.
