There are several kinds of nipple.
The one we all know and love is the one at the end of the female breast (and the vestigial one on the male chest). It is a protruberance (sticking out bit) which has small orifices through which milk can be sucked by an infant (or hungry husband)
Thers is the one in all of science which is a small instrument which allows the slow passage or leakage of fluid through it in the same way the mammalian nipple does.
Then there is the nipple used by plumbers which is used to join pipes. I know very little about this one, not being a plumber !!!!!
Good 'innit??????

It is the protrudance of the mammary gland that is used to dispense milk!
The reason why men have nipples, is we all start out developing the same, as females, in the womb, and then our chromosome kicks in, and we start to develope as men.

Isn't it a milk teat? Although men have them, they're useless and obsolete on men. Women and animals have them for feeding their young!
