I think they may be working on something similar, a closed network where you invite only the people you want to a discussion group.

Why can't we all just grow thicker skin and not let the type-written words of an anonymous user effect us so much? I think the "self-monitoring" will only allow one view to come forth. I think that it probably isn't as much of an issue in any other section (other than politics). Can you imagine this:
Q: What is better- butter or margarine?
A: Butter is better
A: The stupid liberal who gave the answer above doesn't know s__t! Margarine is better by far
A: The guy above me doesn't know anything about sandwich spreads
A: Bush sucks
A: It's all Clinton's fault

They do unfortunately give us that ability. If one person does not like you they can go through all your past answers and questions and report you non stop until your account is gone.
Even if a user is suspended there is nothing stopping them from coming back. That is where the troll problem most likely started to begin with. Legitimate users annoyed someone who wasn't mature enough to handle an opinion different from theirs. They get suspended and become a wicked annoying troll who does the same thing to other people.

Heaven help us on that one. Users are already dropping like flies around here. The 1 per IP wouldn't work because of the people with multiple computers in their homes.

I don't know if that would work.Too many people gang up on certain people even though I don't find them offensive.I think they should look at all violations that are sent and not leave it to a computer or whatever they do.I know in my house I have 3 different people using Y/A for real.2 of my kids do but we all have our areas we post in.My kids don't go into Politics and I don't go into their areas so I don't know how they could differentiate if it was just one person.Good question.

As long as we are guests on their network it is their say. Their sponsors. We have a limited space here and can be replaced. I had to tone down my political views with a bipartisan approach and include a this is my opinion disclaimer. I don't swear but call some earthworms because they dig up dirt. It's their ballgame, we have to follow the rules!
HI editors!! Happy 2day??

I'm not sure why you think we have that right. Yahoo is a corporation, not a governmental body.

No, but I think it should take more than one complaint for a violation notice.
I would make an exception for the guy above me.
