A-Rod still looks to be the first TRUE treat to Hank Aaron's record.

Maybe Pujols?

Arod and Pujols both have a chance to pass Bonds if he ends up with the new record. They are both still young and strong and could have easily close to 900 home runs at the pace they are both going. The key is to stay healthy. I hope they both do and maybe some day some one will have over a 1000.

Of the current players, A-Rod has the best shot. Barring injury he'll hit his 500th this year. He turns 32 in July. Assuming he plays another 8 years he would need to hit about 37 homers a year to reach 800. And knowing that he is obsessed with his stats, I think there's a good chance he'll play long enough to break the record, whatever it is.

Pujols also has a shot, I guess. But let's see where he is in 5 years before trying to project his chances.

Personally, I think Hank Aaron is going to come out of retirement if this happens (Bonds passes him)... I hear the Royals are interested in signing him to a half-year senior deal...kinda like the one Houston has had Clemens on these last few years... He's been pumpin' up.. (I don't think Bond's trainer is involved...but that cannot be substaintiated)... Just remember... Rocky did it! (que 80's montage music now... show various cuts of Aaron working out).

It will defenitely be Alex Rodriguez, if anyone.

Albert Pujols is a great player, and even though they say he's 26, I believe he's about 32 or 33 and is going to break down in a few years.

If Alex stays healthy, he should hit close to 800.
