No it should not. Baseball is at fault for not policing their sport long ago and stopping the use of steroids. I'm not a big Barry Bonds fan but his record should count just as well as any others. And I don't agree with you Duane T...we can't assume that some other ethnic background would break Babe Ruth's record in that era. I agree that it was unfair to not let African-Americans and Latinos play back then.

As much as I detest this Man, no. The problem with asterisks is IT NEVER ENDS. Maris played more games than Ruth, Ruth didn't face black players, Aaron had the benefit of a watered down league the year it expanded --- you can always find something. Really, numbers are just not and never have been meant to compare players across eras.

A knowledgeable baseball fan will know that in reality Bonds is not even worthy enough to polish Aaron's or the Babe's spikes.

All records should have an asterisk from the old days, including Ruth's records. They didn't even allow Latins and Blacks to play baseball for some time, so who knows what records would have gone to whom if everyone was allowed to play?

Who cares, baseball fans whether they like Bonds or not will draw there own opinion of him, look at McGwire everyone, including myself, thought it was great that him and Sosa were fighting neck and neck to break the single season record and that they were playing for two teams that had intense rivalries towards one another, and that these two supposed great players were able play this rivalry out in front of one another. But now McGwire is hiding in the same spider hole that they caught Hussein in, trying to avoid any glare of the spotlight after his awful Congressional testimony and Sosa has been shamed, at least he is trying to play and reinvent his image. No I do not care, I think Bonds will have his own demons to deal with in the future and will get his in the end much like McGwire did when the Hall of Fame vote came around this past year.

ABSOLUTELY!! An asterisk that states that Bonds cheated, lied, and then had the nerve to stay in the game.

Chow!!
