That is a fairly large area to be mixing and pouring concrete by hand. I must agree with the others that 3" is not enough depth particularly if the concrete will have to carry vehicle loads.

However to answer your question I would suggest that you have the mixed concrete delivered by truck. You will need 0.35 cubic yards of concrete for every inch of depth assuming a 19' by 6' pour. For 3" you will need 1.05 cubic yards, 1.4 cubic yards for 4" of depth

for your specified mesurements you need 1.15 yards. Others are right that it should be 4" which means you need 1.5 yards.

Ordering cement for delivery is done generally by 1/4 yards anyway. If you want to bag it you got a BIG job ahead of you as it will begin to dry at 1 end before you can get the other end mixed and this will make trying to "float" it very difficult.

If got to bag it then ask then to calculate bags need to get that quantity needed. Order more than you think you will need and get help on this job. Can always take extra bags back.

recommend delivery

19 by 6 is 114 divide by 3 is 38 ......unless the concrete is for a path only then it Willl be too thin ..minimum of 100mm and 150mm for a car ...very important ..you must put down hardcore first ..minimum of 100mm or the base wil not last five minutes ..as for the sum at the top you divide by 3 ..that is one third of a foot to give you a depth of 100mm this gives you 38 ..there are 35 cubic feet in one cubic metre ....there fore you will need just over a cubic metre of concrete..or two tons of mixed aggregate ..you can use sharp sand and 10mm ballast ..mix at six to one ..

4" IS MINIMUM FOR NORMAL GARDEN USE.....ADD 4 " AGGREGATE FOR BASE IF STANDING CAR ON....no sand is needed just ballast and cement or ready mixed..ask a builder what you require .

change into metric..
19ft x12" =228" divided by 40 (one meter) =5.7m
6ft x12"=72" divided by 40 =1.8m
40"(one meter)divided by 4 = 10units

so 5.7m times 1.8 meters=10.26 square meters divided by the ten units = 1.026 cubic meters of concrete(ballast)
the same amount for aggregate if you need it.........now ask the merchants how much aggregate is in a ton and there you have your quantities
