Sometimes laughing is a hysterical shock reaction. I know I have done several times in the past. It is not that you are actually laughing it is you reaction to shock and pain rather than crying.

Probably not, I never lost my finger but I imagine my response would be something along the lines of "OWWWW!"
"Oh my god I lost my middle finger!" "Jesus Christ! that hurts like a mother ******! call an ambulance!!!" OWWWWWW!!!!
