My daughter has not seen her bio dad for 2 years due to a restraining order we placed on him. My daughter was only able to be checked by one specialist in our area for any signs of molestation. The dumb doctor wouldn't see her until a month after my daughter had last seen her bio dad. We have been to SARC and CPS and have talked with a police officer, who started her case. We just found out that the officer was lazy and didn't do his job and are now assigned to a new officer. All we have been able to do is have a restraining order and get her in counseling. I feel like we're just being pushed to the side. What can I do to protect her from a horrible man? He also has mentally abused me and came close to raping me when I was married to the idiot. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Petition Family Court to remove his parental rights! By the way, if your daughter was sexually molested, you don't make a doctors appointment a month down the road, you file a police report right then and have the child taken to the hospital where they could do an examination and gather evidence. With that water under the bridge, you need to hope that family court views your existing documentation as sufficient to remove his rights. Get copies of any instances of abuse that was reported to the police and let the court know that you feel that his maintaining a parental relationship with the child is not in her best interest. Good Luck!

First, I'd sue the city for the delay in getting a restraining order, second, I'd get a restraining order fast then move somewhere else without telling anyone who has contact with the perv.

this is just so wrong on so many levels. most states law requires a rape kit within hours of any sex crime, usually done in hospital ER, no need for a specialist. this father should have been in jail within hours (dependent on medical exam).

good luck with this.

Honey, you need a lawyer. If you can't afford one, try Legal Aid.
Good luck!

I think the Dixie Chicks wrote a song about a guy named Earl... though illegal, I would look at the lyrics for some good ideas.
