i bought a miniture gateway tower p3 w/980mhz 512 ram is it any good and if i install a combo cd/dvd writer will i experience any problems. also your oppinion on this system? it actually runs faster than some p4s that i have.thanks for your input

Except for gaming, you are OK with that PC even w/ a DVD combo. If you have integrated graphics, better add more RAM since it will share w/ system RAM.

Not bad for an older unit. I have a CD/DVD writer in my 900 celeron and it will convert and burn video in a reasonable amount of time given its age and limitations. If yours is a pentium it should be a decent unit.

If you put Linux on that system, it would fly!
