Read the webpage and if you like what you read this is the antivirus of choce I have used for over ten years and never one virus.

By culture the Chinese are very secret just about everything and that includes their software.

I have used for years an antivirus program out of Beijing, China that is also used by the Government of China.

This antivirus program does not have the Govt. permission to be rated with all other know antivirus programs.

What I can assure you is that you pay only a one time fee for life that will include all auto updates, and all new versions for life. The Chinese don't believe in having to pay an annual fee for updates or new versions.

I can tell you their technology is light years ahead of any other known antivirus software out there.

If you open a webpage and there is a hidden virus it will clean in realtime. Anything that you download and has even a trace code, it will kill the download and ask you to upload the trace code for investigation. In real time the upload will tell you if it is clean or not.

Will not allow you download, Real Player, because there is a hidden file that is a trojan keylogger. The file was uploaded and traced back to the United States Army, Intelligence Services out of London, England. (Removal of the file Real Player will reject the installation).

Read for yourself at their webpage. I have never had one virus in ten plus years. Plus it will catch any progam with it's dynamic defense system, for software that you download and it does not have a publisher or lic., included.

Twister Trojan Antivirus V7

Very low on resources with scanner running in background.

Well no offence to the above answers but keeping update is a hard one I guess starting to answer your question
#1 THE SHEILD PRO 2007 is a simple to use antivirus and firewall program and a perfect program for the less computer savvy. Right from the beginning you can see that this is going to be a program that is simple to download, install and use. The Shield Antivirus comes with its own Easy Installer as they call it, and with 2 clicks, you are walked through the installation process. This was a rather nice way to start out and one that we liked a lot. The Shield Pro 2007 updates and weekly scans are all pre-scheduled in which they have an intuitive interface. As we like to say, a very high "install and forget" rating. FUll S/W $29.99 trial avail 4 DL
#2 CA Antivirus has such a nice, clean interface with what seems to be a very high "install and forget rating". There is no overload of information and choices on the interface which is good. Clean and simple. The way software should be! CA Antivirus's main component runs at less than 13mb RAM which is pretty light and my overall system scan was pretty fast.39.99 avail 4 DL
and in 3RD place
Kaspersky 6.0 developed by iolo Technologies
Perhaps one of the best features of Kaspersky Anti-Virus is that it only scans files that have been modified since the last scan. This can save a significant amount of time during the scanning process, especially for those who store large quantities of files.Full S/W around $50.00 trial avial for download.

Here's some ideas to "roll ya own" Internet Security Suite for free. Free is always the best.

1. For your Anti-Virus......(Always use only 1 A-V)

I like the FREE, AOL ActiveVirusShield. Don't let the name AOL scare you. ActiveVirusShield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.

In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, ActiveVirusShield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.
Full test results are here:
http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82

ActiveVirusShield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources.

Updates many times per day to detect new malware.

Free to anyone, AOL member or not from:
http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp?

2. For your Firewall..........(Always use only 1 firewall)

An excellent free firewall is Comodo Personal Firewall. It can pass firewall "leak tests" that even most of the "paid-for" firewalls cannot pass.

And Comodo has a great support forum. Where the CEO / President of the company might even himself answer your question! Check it out at:
http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

3. For your Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware needs...............(use 2)

Pick and choose, 2 anti-spywares from the list below and alternate scanning with them on a regular basis. New spywares are created literally hourly, so no single anti-spyware can really detect all malware. Have at least 2 on hand and alternate scanning with each every few days or so. All are free. All can remove as well as detect.

Spybot Search and Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html

Ewido:

Adaware SE:

SUPERAntiSpyware:

Windows Defender:

Unfortunately, many "paid for" anti-spyware products are in fact either of limited usefulness or downright scams. When in doubt, look at the list of rogue anti-spyware solutions listed here:
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

4. And to protect your computer from ever getting infected with spyware in the first place............ (use them both)

SpywareBlaster:

SiteAdvisor:

Everything here is 100% free!!!!!!

Great luck!

AVG Free is the best anti-virus out there right now. Norton is total junk, uses up a lot of system resources and you have to pay for it. Avast is also a good free anti-virus. You can download AVG from the link below. There is absolutely no spyware and it is completely free.

If you want spyware remover, you should use Ad-aware and Spybot - Search and Destroy.

some specialists say that homestead windows defender is sufficient, yet with the variety of malware classes available, I propose not. i in my opinion like Spybot seek & destroy because it has consistent virus defintion updates and might do away with a extensive majority of trojans. Plus it has genuine time risk-free practices

Download Norton, AVG , Avast which are free antivirus software. They do protect your computer and you can keep updating them once in three days or so. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. I use Panda and never had a problem.
Why don't you go to http://www.infectedornot.com and try the new Panda tools?

The site is owned by Panda Software and the scanning will take only a minute. It is actually part of the new campaign from Panda "Infected Or Not?". They let you try their new products for free and, in exchange, they collect statistics to be used in their awareness campaign.

I have consulted experts and many people who have it, and found that NOD32 is so far the best anti-virus program. It is widely used by companies and houses everywhere. I have it now, because it is the only program that "cleaned" my computer from all of the viruses I had.
