And who were they?

Almost all HR's hit in the dead-ball era (and 1917 was part of the dead-ball era) were inside-the-park HR's, so they really weren't what you believe them to have been. In fact, in that season, Babe Ruth hit only 2 HR's.

Considering that the major league leaders that season hit only 12 each, I doubt that anyone had a multiple HR game.

My first Cubs pastime decrease back in '03 i've got faith it became that Zambrano hit a HR. Then a pair years in the past I stated to my step brother as quickly as we've been at a pastime: "the two Zambrano bunts or hits a Homerun." next pitch, 2 run shot. the 1st pastime I attended with Nomar Garciaparra on the group I yelled out the comprehensive Nomar hit a Homar element on his first at bat. and you guessed it, 2 pitches later, vast fly. i've got had some success in sturdy previous Wrigley.

I'm not sure if it happened during the regular season, but it did happen in the World Series. In Game 4, the Giant's Benny Kauff homered twice, the only two homers the Giants hit in the whole series.

Considering the league leaders for that year were at 9 and 8 Hr's respectively, I would say no one. But, my guesses would be Wally Pipp and/or Gavvy Cravath.
