It's show your age night, right. Yea I remember Shakey's Pizza. Would never have thought of it in a million yrs. As I recall it was pretty decent. However, I can't remember a banjo player! Ah, the mind goes first.

Loved it!
We'd stand at that window & watch the guy tossing the pizza crusts up in the air for hours (or so it seems in my memory, anyway :D )
And, I always enjoyed the 'follow the bouncing ball' sing-a-longs. Great family fun place!

great pizza and sandwiches. it was a hangout for all the nice kids when I was in high school. also, they had an all you can eat spaghetti lunch with garlic bread and salad that was a great meal at a great price. and thier pizza smelled the best of any pizza I've ever smelled.

Wow, I haven't heard that name in ages! The sad part is I'm old enough now I can't remember too much about it. I think I vaguely remember the commercials though. What a blast from the past.

Yes, they had them in Milwaukee, WI where I grew up in the 60s. I live in Los Angeles, Ca now and they have them. See this page.

I have been past this one. It has the traditional sign. I have also seen one in Culver City, CA. There is also a website which is basically incomplete.

It had all you could eat pizza and chicken. It was great for starving college kids.
