I have started playing pc on,ine games such as PES 6.

Thing is, I still only have 256mb of RAM. I was going to upgrade another 1gb, but apprarenlty this PC can only take 768mb so I will have to go to that. My question is will this be sufficient for playing games and will the 512mb difference be very noticeable surfing net, using hard drive etc?

Don't worry, things are not that bad w/ 768Mb RAM. But try posting your motherboard model here so we could verify system RAM limit.

For games, use a discrete graphics card(not Turbocache version). It is faster and does not share w/ system memory.

Even 512Mb is ok for surfing the net. I'm currently on the net w/ my cool and low power Plll w/ just 3x128Mb system RAM and a fanless 16Mb vidcard.
