Hi Viking!
Right now, in spring and summer, the difference is 9 1/2 hours. When it is 5 p.m. in New Delhi, the clocks in Toronto (Eastern Daylight Time) show 7:30 a.m.
After November 4th, however, the time difference increases to 10 1/2 hours as Toronto turns its clocks back one hour. From the first Sunday of November to the second Sunday of March, when it is 7 a.m. in Toronto, clocks in India say 5:30 p.m.

9.5 hours difference -- due to that ODD India time zone which is 1/2 hour officially, instead of the normal 1 hr.
