It can happen for a variety of reasons. My first one I was on the pill and I was taking Metabolife, noone told me that it interferred with the pill. Well, got pregnant. With the second one, I was again on the pill and was taking antibiotics, guess what?! Pregnant again, lol. And we were using backup protection as well. God just really wanted me to have both of my girls. :-)

Birth Control pills work by using a combination of hormones that prevent ovulation. As with any type of medication, there can be numerous interferences with their effectiveness. Taking another type of medication can make the hormones in birth control pills work improperly. Missed pills or pills that have been thrown up or passed too quickly through your system due to diarrhea can be enough to cause ovulation. While many forms of birth control are quite reliable, nothing is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy except abstinence.

That is really dangerous and you can't unless it is an accident, don't get me wrong, I got pregnant with my first child while I was on the pill, but it doesn't happen all that often. A lot of things can contribute, if you miss a couple doses, if you are on anitbiotics, some can nulify the birth control, ( that is how mine happened) if you do, you must immidiatly stop the pill and consult a doctor.

Some girls just dont understand the idea behind the pill. It MUST be taken at the same time every single day. If it is missed a day here and a day there or is taken at lunch one day and at dinner the next, it is not being used accurately. My cousin got pregnant on birth control like 3 times. She aborted 2 and kept the 3rd only because it was so far along, she really couldnt. I asked how she was "handling" her birth control and she did it as I said above. Basically like a 5th grade boy trying to aim at the toilet. Not very accurately!!!

Yes you can. some medications interact with the pill reducing its effectiveness. Antibiotics can do this. It is important to take your pill the same time every day. Some women forget a pill here and there too and that reduces its effectiveness. always ask about medication interactions with your doctor and when taking atibiotics use condoms as a back up.

I got pregnant while on the pill. I just wasn't taking it correctly. I would miss one and try to double up, which DOES NOT work! Also, the pill isn't 100% which means that if you have unprotected sex w/ ejaculation in you, you can get pregnant.

If you miss one.And the pill isn't 100% safe.It is like 90 some % safe.So you still have a small chance so getting pregnant.

There is just that little .01% that allows it to happen. Who knows, maybe the strength of the pill or how and when it's taken if not exactly at the same time everyday. Same goes with a tubal. One little strand to the ovary and "hello".
