I don't really have a female to look up to in my family or outside of my family. In relationships, I don't know how to be. I know that we teach people how to treat us but the thing is I don't really want to be a controlling person. I like being patient but I don't want a guy to walk all over me.
How can I be that strong woman without being controlling?

There is a difference between being controlling and being a strong woman. A controlling person wants and demands that everything is done her way, or else. A strong woman just demands and deserves respect. You are not being controlling if you stand up for yourself. Don't waste your time with anyone who will not respect you or treat you the way you want to be treated. Just remember to talk with you partner and tell them what you expect and ask them what they expect from the relationship. It has to be give and take. But if what they are asking for feels wrong then don't do it.

A woman becomes strong not by controlling the man but by being in control of certain situations that may arise.
If he disrespects you, in ANY shape or form or short changes you from your reasonable expectations than you are entitled to voice your thoughts.
Let him know from the very beginning what you are looking for. that way there are no misunderstandings. If he ever makes a mistake and you voice your thoughts about it and he says, "you just want to control me" or "you just want to argue" or "all you do is nag." (my ex's favorite phrase) Let him know, " I made it very clear what my expectation and they haven't changed. So whats going on here?
Everyone makes mistakes but after that first mistake is made then it just becomes a habit. It's hard sometimes to let go of someone we care about or love, but we women have to learn that we can't change a man unless he wants to change.
Always remember this,
A person can't change something they don't acknowledge.

By being yourself--be Patient that is a great quality in a women--but when you feel someone is taking advantage of you let them know....You do not have to control anything or anyone,but yourself.

Standing up for what you believe in but accepting the opinions of others without trying to change their minds. Don't let your feelings keep bottled up inside, but when you do express them, be calm and make your point clear. Nobody wants to listen to someone who is a hot head. Let them know before it gets to the boiling point. Compromise. be willing to give in a little when it comes to certain things, of course nothing that will jeopardize your morals.

Just try to be conciderate to him, whoever he is, and just do what feels like the most appropriate thing to do at that moment. Just tell yourself that you will not be a control freak, but you won't be all loos-ey goos-ey either. Try not to act too desperate, either, because that's a major turnoff. Just try to balance everything out like ying and yang and then everything should turn out just fine. Good luck!

Try to learn compromise with out losing self. If you firmly believe something stand your ground. If an issue can be resolved with a capitulation that doesn't harm your self esteem then go that way. Give and take. (equally)

well...when a guy does something terrible to you....u scare him..by saying am gonna live u.....and say something like..."i should have never left Jason for u, maybe I should go back to him".....but in your heart u know u have never been with a guy name Jason....or....when he gets u angry...just live....without saying a word....hope this helps.
