use sidestep.com

It is going to depend on what day you are going, how much advance notice you are giving...etc. Sidestep will search all the other travel sites and airlines.

Then always check Southwest as they don't participate with any travel sites or engines...They have a $44 flight from Orange County to Oakland, but they run out at that price.

Your cheapest flying days are always going to be Tues, Wed, & Sat. so keep that in mind if you have any options.

From John Wayne, the flight to Oakland on Alaska Airlines will probably be the cheapest.

Otherwise, both American and United fly into SFO International.

Both Oakland and SFO are served by BART (the subway system). SFO's station is inside the international terminal. While at Oakland, you'll have to connect to the Colesium station via a shuttle bus.

i usually find best deals using jetblue or southwest. I think southwest is doing some deals right now. Southwest is doing $44 one way if you fly on tuesday or wednesday.
