1964! You're making me date myself! Actually, I'm now dating DAISY! That solo gig just doesn't cut it! And she's a LOT more fun!!! (I love that woman!)
By the way, I still remember how, WAY back then, we would play with blocks (and FIGHT over them), also MADE BUTTER using a REAL butter churner (the old fashioned kind! That was cool! We got to have the "fruit of our labours" on crackers!); and of course, NAP TIME in the afternoon using our floor mat that we had to bring with us! (How come that HARD FLOOR never bothered me as a kid???)
I remember one time, I SCARED MY MOM TO DEATH! She had hired a girl to get me when Kindergarten was over for the day and walk me home. It wasn't REAL FAR.....not for an older kid or an adult (just several blocks!), but for a FIVE YEAR OLD, it was WAY LONG, especially in a fairly large city (Buffalo, NY) where there was TRAFFIC to deal with! I decided to "venture out on my own" and just TOOK OFF after school BEFORE the girl got there, and THANK GOD, I made it home! I got in trouble with my mom, and it seems I've ALWAYS gotten a bit "off track" in life! Maybe my DAISY-LOVE can help "steer me in the right direction", huh?
