Is she afraid traces of Bill and Monica are still in there or what? Is she going to PERSONALLY lift up the rug and dust? That's what she made it sound like...

Maybe she's talking about cleaning up like in the attached link. Elway and Westhill may want to take notice if they still have open eyes.

She's right - what a mess this President will leave behind him. She'll be cleaning up after him for a long time when she takes office. Are you really so politically naive that you don't notice all the other candidates who craft their phrasing and voices to match those of the people they are talking to? They all do it, not just Hillary and not just the Democrats. If this is all you've got it's pathetic. Your first answerer is another one who loves conjecture as fact. That is b.s. about the Clintons stealing from the White House when they left. Here, read something useful for a change:

...Bush propaganda machine and the full array of Clinton haters continued their daily assaults on the ex-president, attacking his pardons, gifts he'd received in the White House, his proposed New
York office building, and allegations that his staff had trashed
the White House after leaving office.

...the stories of White House vandalism were greatly exaggerated, the claim of theft on Air Force One was pure disinformation, Clinton's gifts were not significantly larger than those of Reagan and Bush senior.

Bush's White House would leak rumors to friendly journalists, or those managing rightwing Web sites such as the Drudge Report, and the stories would quickly circulate and be taken up by the mainstream media; there would then be days of impassioned discussion, and eventually reputable newspapers such as the New York Times would publish stories deflating claims, for example, that the departing Clintonites trashed the White House or took mementos from Air Force One. Reporters looking into Clinton's last days in the White House did not find that he took any more gifts or objects from the White House than his predecessors, and
W. himself was forced to concede that there was no truth to the rumor that the Clintons had stolen items from Air Force One on their last trip. But the damage had been done, and the Bushites were able to present themselves as a "clean" and virtuous contrast to the departing Clinton administration.

I'm afraid of what will happen if Hillary became President. She'd be so worried about what Bill was up to and trying to sweep what he was doing UNDER the rug, she'd never get anything done.

Hillary is a phony panderer. That 'accent' is laughable. She might find some glass shards under that rug from the lamp she threw at Bill.

Cute video thanks. Sweeping things under the rug is an old figure of speech. She means she's going to take care of the corruption, incompetence, and scandals that Bush has kept hidden or obscured (swept under the rug).

It's interesting that Bush told Pelosi not to "measure for drapes" before the Fall 2006 election. It seems that housekeeping sayings are in vogue.

LOL!! she really tries to blend in with her surroundings doesn't she? She may sweep things under the rug, but that's not removing the dirt is it, it's just hiding it and going by the ol' Out of sight out of mind approach!! So basically she's telling everyone she's not going to try and fix any current problems, she's just going to ignore it and put it to the side... Good Tactics Hillary!!

She will make the corruption go away. This current Administration is one of the most corrupt in history. While Bill wasn't lily white he was very pale, indeed compared to the Bushies.

What about the accent? My mother-in-law was from the South and the accent would come out from time to time even after being away for over 30 years. Just like in the midwest don'tcha know? Accents don't completely disappear.

Just another page in the book of the Clinton's and how they perceive everyone in this country to be completely stupid.

She is so ridiculous it is almost comical

Get of it lady. America is sick of having mobsters in the white house. Like these criminals:
George Bush
Karl Rove
Dick Cheney
Joe Allbaugh
Condoleezza Rice
Michael Brown
Alberto Gonzales
Lewis "Scooter" Libby
Donald H. Rumsfeld
Paul Wolfowitz
The Republicans don't stand a chance in 2008. Monica and Bill are nothing compaired to the list of criminals in the Bush inner circle!
