There IS a nation way bigger - and soon to be more powerful - than the U.S.A. That nation is CHINA, an up-and-coming superpower that, within a generation, will rule the world. The United States is China's biggest creditor, thanks to George W. Bush's reckless economic policies and trillion-dollar Iraqi war. It's only a matter of time until China revokes our 'credit card' and forces the U.S.A. into the worst economic depression in its history (making 1929 look like an ice cream social).
When that happens, the U.S. will be in the same straits as Russia is in today: unable to finance a military, and impotent when it comes to managing its own affairs, much less those of the rest of the world.
China will then send its multi-million-man troops to our shores and take whatever it wants: natural resources, real estate, banks, personal property, oil, - even our women if there's a strong demand for western females in the lucrative world-wide sex slave trade.
Don't think it's going to happen? It's closer than you think. China has shrewdly sat back and patiently waited for the U.S.A. to bloat itself into gluttony, sloth, moral decay, and political corruption.
Their time to strike is...soon! And we should be afraid - very afraid. Because what most people believe to be "impossible" is, indeed, very possible (especially since the two Bush administrations have snuggled up to China and allowed America to get into this mess). -RKO- 04/23/07

Probably not. To make such a demand could be considered an act of war. What would be the sanction for non-compliance?

How many is 'too many' occasions that the US has been an invader?
Also how have the Americans precisely threatened world peace?
Korea? A UN venture. Vietnam? localised, but the US was there by invatation to repel the North Vietnaese invaders. Gulf War? UN backed.
Iran seems to be the mistake but Saddam was threatening neighbouring countries.
Russia attempted to place nuclear missiles on Cuba. That was a threat. Iran is attempting to manufacture nuclear weapons, that really is a threat.
Maybe your hypothetical super powerful country should look there for disarmament. And the sanction for non-compliance would be what precisely?

In your opinion is it only the Americans that have been a threat to world peace? Not really is it? How about Britain and France and Israel during Suez? Who put an end to that? America did, look it up!
I don't quite see the point you are trying to make here, if you think removing all nuclear weapons will bring about world peace, fair enough, but the main thing there is who is going to remove theirs first?
Now lets assume that China does start 'flexing its muscles' are they likely to tell everyone else to disarm?
Now lets assume your question is a 'tongue in cheek' sort of thing , it's not too bad and appears to have 'riled ' some folk up!
I have notice that a lot of Americans don't have much understanding of 'tongue in cheek' they think it's some sort of French kiss! But the vast majority of Americans are very patriotic , (obviously more patriotic than the Brits ) and with a completely different sense of humour, so what, live and let live.
I would rather have America as our friends and allies than have them as our enemy, would you prefer China????.

If the USA had to disarm then there would be chaos around the world. I am not Dubya's biggest fan and American fpreign policy is deficient in many ways, but there needs to be a 'super power' and the U.S. is it.
The American people have the opportunity to change thier government every four years, something we in the west take for granted. So if another more powerful nation existed your question would refer to that nation which would surplant the USA.

China DOES have a lot of people.

That's their biggest problem. 25% of them are unemployed or living in poverty. They have a very high rate of disease. Their water is running out. I personally think China is in position to implode from whithin before they ever make it to world domination. Remember Tienamin Square - China's is NOT a stable government.

I'd be more worried about India, or about the European Union consolidating into one big nation, or about a new Caliphate across the Muslim world fueled by hatred of the West.

Some day, all the little nations that hate the US are going to realize that, if they stopped fighting each other long enough to pool their resources, they could make the US sit up and take them seriously. (But don't tell them I said so.)

Don't forget that the yahoo headquarters are located in Sunnyvale California. The server that you are talking through, well, is supported by industry, etc., the almighty US dollar.

I would say that calling the US invaders, is biting the hand that feeds you ... Are we invaders when you disagree with the politics? What about when you enjoy some creature comforts, conveniences, and the freedoms that our culture affords, and extends to others?

Peace out bro.

Probably.

Then again, America didn't disarm England, and considering the number of deaths the Empire caused, you would have thought they might have done. Although that was a lot longer ago.

It would not make experience to call an entire u . s . a hypocrite. this is produced from various diverse those with differing suggestions. additionally, the human beings who dropped the bomb on Japan are not the comparable ones who're going after terrorists right this moment. conflict in and of itself is hypocritical, particularly. somebody assaults you, what do you do? attack them lower back. this is hypocritical by employing nature.
