If it is, what do they use it to treat? And also, do they use it to treat irritable bowel syndrome.

I would like a link to a website explaining all this. Thanks.

States with active Medical Marijuana laws are:

Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.

Inspite of what some of the posters have said (having bought into ONDCP/FDA propaganda) marijuana is a valuable medicinal plant.

It has been tested and studied and found to be a useful treatment for a variety of ailments, including but not limited to: nausea related to chemotherapy and HIV/AIDS treatment, fibromyalgia, MS, tourettes, sleep apanea, hepatitis C, and GI disorders (although I am not sure if that includes your specific complaint).

Check out NORML for more information on the medical value of cannabis: http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=7002

NO! The last thing that I heard on the subject of Marijuana was that the federal government of the United States of America determined that ALL MARAJANA was to be considered illegal and therefore overriding any state laws or even the use of Medical Marijuana.

Now, could someone explain how the government would benefit from making Marijuana illegal and keeping Tobacco & Liquor legal? Tobacco is responsible for more cancer than Marijuana and Liquor is responsible for more auto accidents that Marijuana. So, I figure that the US Government makes more money policing us away from Marijuana than they could in regulating it and taxing it.

The federal government actually made it illegal on a federal level. So no matter what it's illegal. However some states still have laws that allow it. It's a strange catch 22. If you are in a state that allows it, you will probably be fine ,but the federal governmnet could arrest you if they wanted to.
