hey people just wondering somthing, has anyone here had any luck with ANY puffer in a reef tank. I love puffers but i've always been hesitant to add any because i know how they like to chow down on shrimp and crabs. I know there is often exceptions to the rules i was just wondering if anyone out there has had any luck.

When it comes to eating crustaceans, you won't be finding exceptions. They need the hard surface to trim their beaks so they can feed properly. That's why they're best kept in a tank by themselves and are fed only what you want them to eat.

Puffers usually can't be kept in a reef tank, they ruin corals. They are also aggressive towards smaller critters in the tank. It's usually better to have them in just a salt water tank that is free of corals and smaller animals.
