To Justin,
Why do you stick up for Gene? I don't think that Jay h. was wrong in what he brought up, maybe both of you need to go get uneducated, then you might know something. As for the person who asked this question, I think that it's great that you have the ability to be open minded and not afraid of finding things out on your own. Just because they say evolution is a fact, you are able to get past that and really see. If only more people could open their eyes, and see that there is more than one possibility. Great for you! I'm going to do a little research myself! Thanks for the links Jay!

You are the one that is blind my friend. Do you know anything about plate tectonics? Here's a quick rundown for you. The earth's crust is broken up into many different "plates." As the plates move, they cause geological events such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and sea-floor spreading. I have included a link so that you can explore this well-known phenomenon. As the plates move, continents shift. Scientists are able to determine a plate's historical geography based on rock formations. For example, rock formations along the coasts of South America and Africa match, showing that these continents were once united.
As for your buried rain forest, I have no idea what you are referring to since you did not cite your sources. But, I can tell you that geologists have long believed that the area that is now Pennsylvania was once located about 5 degrees south of the equator. Ancient rain forests grew there at that time, and the plants were nothing like they are today, because the atmosphere was completely different. As these rain forests died, coal beds were created from the organic material. They have been mining that coal in PA for who knows how many years.
If you need more proof, I suggest getting an education. Take a geology class, and if you still don't believe, then I am sorry for you.
I would like to note that Jay's article includes a reference to the Bible. You can see that creationists are trying to CREATE the earth's history based on one book which many believe to be a work of fiction. The idea of the flood is a conspiracy theory. Many areas have been found that are rich with fossils. These were created due to rapid burial. The Burgess Shale is a famous example of a diverse array of marine life that was preserved when an underwater mudslide occurred. MARINE LIFE. THEY WERE ALREADY UNDER WATER. That site only reinforces the theory of evolution. Thanks Jay.

Kudos`s to Lie, except that science has discovered evidence of a great flood, just that it was not world wide, I believe the area concerned it the Mediterranean Sea, which at one time was a fertile valley and the end toward the ocean was closed, over time erosion, earthquakes, and other naturally occurring circumstances, let the ocean come pouring in. It was estimated that the flood took many years to rise the water level it is today, evidenced from underwater communities gradually getting older as deeper depths are explored.

To gene, props.
To Jay; Please educate yourself. You're a sad example of a failed education system. Through specific dating (specifically reanalysis the daughter-parent atom ratios of radiometric decay) or relative dating by viewing the regional stratigraphy.
To the creator of the question, how does it show evidence of the creation/flood theory? If the entire earth was flooded at the point in time then how come, in Llano Texas for example, there were no seas. Instead, there was a broad flat plain composed of igneous and metamorphic rock

I did read about that. It was interesting, and yes it does appear that there was a very different world at one time that was suddenly burried. Just more evidence of a massive flood, and a different world, and yes, evolution will have to try to find a way to defend itself from this blow.

The Meteorite that created the Gulf of Mexico is what buried that rain forest and caused quite a bit of other problems.

Well, when I was in school I thought evolution was a fact, when I got out f school and researched it from multi-dementions, I found out, it's the most idiotic way of thinking out there. Glad I got out of that religeon! but No, it doesn't supprise me that they found a rain forrest under there. I could have told them it would be there. Studies prove that there was a worldwide flood. Things got burried. do your homework.

At one time, regardless of religion, most of Earth was under water. Same idea about finding water/ocean fossils in Montana. Now the question is do you believe in dinosaurs?

Yes, I read about it, I read the evolution point of view, and this evolution stuff is really looking quetionable, the more research I do, the more it appears the be a whole lot of B.S. I agree, people should look at both sides, or they do become, "plain blind".
