Yes, global warming is cyclical. The planet has always had periods of warming and cooling.
But why can't people of even the least bit of intelligence recognize that this 'cycle' has been affected by man's own industrial revolution of the past 150 years. Air and water pollution; smoke-belching factories; millions of cars with gaseous emissions; rain forests being destroyed; a refusal on anyone's part to reduce, re-use,and recycle; a society that boasts about how it 'disposes" of everything from a styrofoam cup to the earth's richest soil; asphalting over everything so we can have more shopping malls and parking lots; wasteful use of coal, oil, natural gas, and other precious (and exhaustible) resources; total disregard for the protection and conservation of all of Earth's humans, plants and animals so that we can co-exist in an ecologically secure world; squandering of land, lumber, and nature's wide expanses of beauty all for our own selfish 'development'; killing of wild animals and turning many into endangered (or extinct) species; the slaughter of billions of buffalo, an animal that native American Indians regarded as a sacred resource; driving gas-guzzling SUVs just because we can "afford it"; wasting precious energy because we're too damned lazy to turn off a light or a TV set when we're not using it; refusing to turn down our thermostats and wear layers of clothing; spreading all kinds of chemicals on our lawns so we can beautiful green grass or kill dandelions; overflowing landfills with all of our waste and trash, just because it's easier than sorting it all out and taking it to a recycling center; depleting the ocean bounty just because we enjoy spending $80 in a five-star restaurant for sushi; pouring used vegetable down the drain instead of recycling it to be used a a cleaner fuel for our automobiles; hunting wild elephants so that they can be killed and their tusks sold for items of beauty.
Yes, there was pollution 300 millions years ago - but NOTHING LIKE WE SEE TODAY! We will be the catalyst of our own self-destruction, all because of our wasteful lifestyles. -RKO- 04/23/07

the main needed procedures that the human beings can try against worldwide warming is getting rid of their older kind autos (1979 Buick) because of the fact, older autos emmitt greater poisonous fumes into the air. Its glaring that the greater technological stepped forward a automobile is, the less risky gases it emmitts. A automobile that fluctuate into outfitted 3 or 4 years in the past would be greater economic gadget friendly than a automobile that fluctuate into assembled 35 years in the past. for top populated cities including long island, Bus and Taxi companys ought to replace cutting-edge autos with autos that are powered by employing hydrogen or electrical energy. basically think of, if each considerable city used the Toyota Prius as taxi's, there could be a decreased point of pollutants, and additionally taxi fares might desire to be extensively decrease as properly.

Do you know anything about the geology of the Earth or are you spouting talking points? Illinois was not where it is not 300 million years ago. Continents shifted, broke apart and slammed together. Comparing the Illinois of 300 million years ago to today just shows how little you understand. I hope you don't vote.

Its all very alarming...the snowcaps are melting too quickly, the moon is getting further and further away from the Earth. Its not looking good for us. We all have to try to conserve energy and reduce global warming.

It wouldn't be happening this fast though. And what about the more immediate effects? Our Maine woods are being ruined NOW by acid rain from the coal-buring power plants in the midwest.
