I have some quarters dating from 1934 up. The face value is $7. How much would I be able to sell them for? They are not in excellent condition and kind of dirty, but you can clearly see the dates on all of them. I checked ebay but it's hard to tell what they are worth. Also, should I try to clean them up, and what can I use? Should I sell them as a lot or individually?

Do not clean them. With out knowing the dates and mint marks if any as well as grade I can not give you their value. If they are in low grade, that is well worn, then they are at least worth 7 to 8 times face value for the silver in them. Take them to a coin dealer. If the guy has a shop and has been there for sometime then he must be okay. Most dealers are honest but all it takes in one crook to make it look bad for all the good dealers. Remember they are in business to make money and have overhead, so they need to make at least a 40% profit. You would do better selling them as each, not as a bulk item.

The fact that it is 50 yr. old would mean that it is silver and would be worth a premium on that basis. Maybe $2 or so. Otherwise it would depend on its exact year, mint mark and condition. You could take it to a coin store or possibly find a site on line with value listings, year by year, of various coins. 50 yr. is rather recent by coin standards so it is most likely worth only its silver content premium.
