My friend is going through the same thing at the moment, and he is one of the most 'hard-core' christians I know!
Maybe you just need to be patient and when you do spend time with Jesus, let there be no distractions. At the moment I am preparing for my AS levels, and even though I crave for a growing relationship with Jesus all the time, I feel distracted even if there is nothing physically there to distract me, it is in my head. For example, at the moment, I am worrying about PE c/w and Spanish oral examinations. When I pray, this worry sometimes come through and distracts me from Jesus.
Also, all I can say is really open your heart to what Jesus is trying to say to you. Pray before you pray (!) about this!
You could also try telling about some people about the way you are feeling, and they can pray with you.
God Bless and I hope you allow Jesus to work in you! He has a plan!

Praying every day does not guarantee results on YOUR timetable! Continue to pray and trust that the opportunities will arrive. Even little things, like smiling, holding a door for someone or giving up some of your time to do a favor for someone are probably put before right now and you are not recognizing them as opportunities from Jesus. Small things are very important.

You're right he is there he is listening....but sometimes it is not up to Jesus, He can only lead you so far, but cannot make you drink. He gives you the guidelines and the path you must take, but after that, it is up to you to change. He also knows that you are only human and are not perfect, therefore you will always make mistakes no matter how hard you try, but he still loves you. Keep trying and praying and things will work out. It is hard to change the way we do things in life, the things you wish to change will not happen over night, it takes time. Don't give up Him, because He has not given up on you. Later on you will realize that he was there all along.
You remind me of this poem by Mary Stevenson: I hope you will like it....This always helps me to remember that he is really there.
Footprints In The Sand
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the
sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one
belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he
looked back at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life. This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that
once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all
the way. But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me." The Lord replied,
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would
never leave you. During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it
was then that I Carried You."

It's because you're letting your worldly feelings and doubts take over. Even in the worst of times, YES he is there. Whether you feel him or not...he's there. Before you became a Christian, he was there. It's so easy to let our worries and fear consume us. Whatever trial or difficulty you are going thru in your life right now...just pray through it. There are stories in the bible where God asked his servants to perform tasks multiple times. The man w/Leprocay for instance. God told him to bathe in the river 7 times and he would be healed. You can probably imagine how he felt coming up the 5th and 6th times. Wanting to give up. But when he emerged from the water that 7th time, he was indeed healed. It just takes patience and faith.
Good luck with whatever curve ball life has thrown your way. And God Bless!

Well He is there, but sometimes God does remove himself from us for a time. There may be something you are dealing with or going through that he wants you to get the lesson out of and if he comes in and saves you from the dilemma you'll never get to the next level in your life. Going through things and getting around obstacles is a way for us to grow. If you don't grow up in the Lord then how can He use you later? There is a maturing that takes place so that God can have us do His will and until you learn whatever lesson it is He has for you, you'll keep going around and around the same issue(s). Instead of praying right now, just try to sit still and hear from Him. You are doing all the talking so He can't get a word in edgewise. He said "be still and know that I am God". God wants to do some talking in your life right now, so be quiet for awhile and just listen. Be blessed.

Are you putting all your feelings and emotions when you pray? He's listening and watching over you; the devil is a LIAR, and by the way very manipulating that is why you are feeling the way you are. When you feel like this say a quick prayer and then tell Satan to kiss you where the sun don't shine...lol and don't give up!

You see....this is where faith comes in handy....you may feel like he's not listening....but in actuality he is....it's just that perhaps you already have the power within you or he's given you an answer but your so stressed out you missed it, but it's still there waiting for you to hear it....
We all muddle through the poop in life just dying for a chance to smell the roses....and once we accomplish a lesson we're meant to be taught...we are rewarded! It is real hard to stay focused and dedicated in something we can't see just rest assured that he's not ignoring you.....he's giving you character!
Bottom line honey.....have unwavering faith....all will be well!
I have the worst luck ever....but i won't give up....you shouldn't either.....don't let your frustration of the situation turn to resentment....it will .... in the long run....make your spiritual well-being worse off....I will pray for strength and wisdom for you ! Keep real!

Its time like these when our faith is increased. Countless times in the bible we are advised to wait on the Lord. Its times like these we have to stay firm in believing that God cares.
I know exactly what you mean - its called the desert period. Be encouraged, read the bible. The book of John says that in the beginning was the word and the word was God - so read continuously. This may be a trust period for you, or he may be there but you are looking for him through "normal" situations, God is huge and amazing.
Trust me, be patient. Pray without ceasing. The bible says (Hebrews 11) that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Continue to seek Him, and believe in him.
God Bless!!
Jesus doesn't always makes us "happy" but he always looks out for our BEST interest. Most of the time we don't really know what that is. He has you at this point to prepare you for another one.

*Okay well my first thought is that you kind of sound selfish, and what I mean by that is you sound like you are expecting too much from "him."
.And that when you don't get the same "feeling" you usually have...you act all weirded out like your life is over or something?
.Maybe you ask too much of "him"....and he cannot make you a better person, however YOU can make yourself a better person...and quit trying to rely on someone else to do it for you.
*So sorry to say it, but you come off selfish...and needy. You also sound like you cannot help yourself at all. Learn to do things on your own, and you might get somewhere in life.
.Praying is great and all, but you can't expect it to change your life...or you.
**I hope jesus takes you off hold......and you get to talk to him.

Jesus is always there! But I hope you're not expecting miracles for your relationship to be better and for you to become a better person* You can't just ask..and expect a magic wand to make it all good*
You have to work on yourself to improve yourself. God will guide you..but You have to do the work on your own*
If you're wanting to be a better person, strive at working at that* Have you really tried to become a better person? how so?
If you're wanting to be closer to jesus/god...go to church* you'll feel him there*
He is Always listening...but perhaps he feels You NEED to do this on y our own and listen to his guidance ways...You know what you need to do to become a better person...so do that*~KEEP ON SMILIN and KEEP THE FAITH*
