Not a good do it yourself project. To do it right you should remove the drain and all the caulking, etc. Then theres a lot of prep involved.

it's not overly complicated to do it yourself if you use the right product. If you follow the directions exactly and your prep work is done right it will last 5 - 10 years. A professional job is better, but it will also cost about 5 - 10 times as much. A drop in tub liner will make the tub the same as new, a coating will do the same, but it won't last as long.

I've used the product in the link above many times, easy to apply and works great. I know it will last at least 5 years, I have 3 or 4 bathtubs I've used it on and they still look good. $75, includes shipping.

Get it done professionally. Get references from whoever you choose to do the work. You cannot purchase the same quality chemicals and coatings a pro can. It is very labor intensive and will fail if not done properly. Stay away from the tub fitters that install a plastic liner in your current tub. The cost is higher than a new tub installed.

To me is looks like a very intents project. I would leave it to a professional. lots of chemicals involved .
